It was an exciting day today - well, for the dogs at least, who had plenty of humans to bark at. Firstly, the “solar guys” as I call them returned, to fix a little something. We are getting to know them quite well, but hopefully there is now nothing left to be fixed. And there were five of them (two were doing stuff, the other three were sitting around and casting sideways glances up at our mango trees - where, alas, there are no mangoes).
The sun finally made an appearance after several days of soaking rain, and with it came our gardener, a jovial and highly efficient fellow who often brings his wife with him; they work as a team. Our yard was an insane mess of thick, wet leaves, slippery patches of mud, and saturated, sticky earth. But they tackled it with gusto. All is now restored.
Then, who else? Oh yes, the electrician, a sweet and gentle man we have known for many years (although the dogs continue to treat as an arch criminal).
Finally, as night fell it rained again, settling everything down, including the tree frogs.
P.S. Have you watched a series called “Slow Horses”? It’s on Apple TV in Jamaica. I have become addicted, after two seasons. It’s a British thriller, with some amusing characters (who are actually underdog M15 agents, and they can be quite ruthless at times) with the slovenly Gary Oldman in charge. It may not be everyone’s “cuppa” tea, but the dry humour is delightful, and there’s never a dull moment. Off I go, to watch it now.
I am not a binge watcher - I watch one episode of something per night, neither more nor less. It’s more fun that way.
