It was people watching and also engaging with people, which was nice. Very trying circumstances but as my husband’s favourite Jamaican T shirt says “Ah so it guh “ in props - in other words, that’s the way it goes.
'got ya' woman –– Is that close enough to a language that fascinates me, or just a characterization? Newfoundland talk intrigued me when I was there, and I'm betting all languages, when used with respect, are languages of love. Get well soon Emma.
So sorry you wrecked your knee cap, Emma. No picking up of grandpikni, I don't think, till it's all better! Your A&E sounds a lot more amiable than mine. The nurses and staff are wonderful, but our young people are often sadly not popping anything as innocent as their beloved's pimples. Breaks my heart...
Oh dear… how very sad. Yes, the atmosphere was quite convivial. And no one complained about waiting for hours. Plus, the bacon and egg sandwiches were delicious…
Love the piece.....Sorry to know you popped your knee-cap. Yes waiting rooms can be verry reflective of society and bring out the true character of mankind....in all her beauty! Start singing sea shanties and swing your peg leg in time. Get well soon Emma......actually it sounds very much like UWI emergency room...with a different accent!!!
Any writer knows the joy of people watching. Thanks for this visit Emma (sadly under trying circumstances).

In patois, I mean.

Emma, so very engaging. Again a strong demonstration of your ability to observe and to put a smile on faces even in dreary, uncomfortable situations
Thanks so much, Franklin! Just my little observations of humanity, even though we were quite stressed!

Emma, Sorry about your knee. Your post is confirming that you are not in Jamaica. We do "knee cup" here.
Oh no!
Sorry for your pain. (In your kneecap...I'll have no sympathy AT ALL when El Tri vanquish The Three Lions tomorrow night 😉)
A motley crew indeed. Hope the knee is not too painful and you will be back walking with a normal gait soon. 🙏🏽😬
