So sorry to hear of the destruction wrought by the hurricane! I'm just back from the UK myself, with time spent with family. So much of what you say about two homes strikes a chord.

Yes, it is difficult and the problem is that this is right at the start of the season - a name beginning with "B." There will be more to come. While struggling with a blurry brain from the COVID, and with the storm beating on our roof (still intact!) I was struggling mentally with my torn allegiances. I don't know what the answer is. For a long time I have accepted the status quo, but now that I am older I am asking myself whether I should embrace one side or the other, so to speak - once and for all.

It's tough, isn't it? The life represented by the the Tanabata story I've just posted about has its allure, poised between fixed points. But there is wear and tear involved too, isn't there, and not just on the body. I hope you receover soon from COVID and that the storms are few and unthreatening.

I will read your post. Yes - two fixed points but there is that wear and tear. A very good way of describing it. We are recovering from COVID quite well. Prospects are not good for the hurricane season, but we can only keep fingers crossed!
